And the Wind Blue...

Good Morning!

Yesterday, the sun was beating down and the wind was blowing. It was a beautiful scene at the newly renovated riverfront in Wilkes Barre. The remnants of snow sparkled in the sunlight and the wind gave life to the bare trees along the Susquehanna River.

In the late 1700's, settlers from Connecticut traveled southwest and established the River Common on the east side of the Susquehanna River. By 1804, Wilkes Barre park system was finally created and used the riverfront as a common ground for events, parties and meetings. This still holds true for today. Throughout the year, the River Commons committee holds events such as art festivals, music festivals, marathons, and other local community events. In 2007, the area was revitalized, making it more appealing and accessible to the public. There are so many beautiful spots along the Susquehanna River, I'm sure you'll be seeing the riverfront backdrop in my future posts :)

With the wind in the air, I decided to wear my royal blue peacoat from Old Navy. Underneath, I layered a heather gray polka dot sweater over a light pink/gray plaid shirt, granite gray skinnies, bow pumps and a pink statement necklace.

Enjoy and have a wonderful day!
